Main Topics:
Psychosocial counseling

Life in today’s society can be challenging. Global crises are on the rise, and everyday life is becoming increasingly demanding. In our psychosocial counseling sessions, we provide you with the space and time to address the problems and questions that are troubling you. Together, we work on finding practical solutions.

We are here to support you with our knowledge and experience, while ensuring that all decisions remain entirely yours to make.

The topics we can assist with are varied and tailored to your needs. Here are a few examples:

  • "My everyday life is becoming overwhelming!"
  • "Raising my children is pushing me to my limits, and I need support and relief."
  • "I feel alone with my problems and would like to talk to someone or connect with a group of like-minded people."
  • "I need help filling out forms or applications."
  • "I don’t know which social benefits I’m eligible for or what financial support is available."
  • "I recognize that I need help, but I’m unsure what kind of support is right for me or where to find it."

No matter the challenge, we are here to guide and support you in finding the right solutions for your situation.

If you feel uncomfortable or unsafe in your home, with your family, or with your partner, we are here to listen and help. Below are some examples of situations where we can provide support:

  • "My partner was so loving at the beginning of the relationship, but now they yell at me more and more often."
  • "I am being beaten or threatened."
  • "I’m not allowed to make my own decisions about my daily life or contact friends or family."
  • "I am being touched without consent."
  • "My 'no' is not respected," "I’m afraid to say 'no,'" or "I was raped."
  • "I am being forced into marriage."
  • "I’m not allowed to work or decide what to do with my money."
  • "I was beaten and fought back. Can I still get help?"
  • "I’m in a lesbian relationship, and people don’t believe my partner is violent because women are seen as 'gentle and loving.'
  • "I want a divorce but don’t know how to proceed. What will happen to my children? Where can I find protection?"

No matter your situation, you are not alone. We are here to help you explore your options, connect with resources, and find safety and support.

Violence has many facets. We can guide you toward ways out of your situation and connect you with shelters, support services, and legal options.

Questions About Gender and Sexuality

Do any of these thoughts sound familiar?

  • "I have questions about my gender or sexuality."
  • "Everyone else seems different from me."
  • "I think I might be gay, lesbian, bisexual, poly, trans, non-binary… What now?"*
  • "What do these terms mean, and do any of them describe me?"
  • "I’m being bullied because of my gender identity or sexual orientation."
  • "Do I have to come out?"
  • "How do I talk to my parents, family, friends, teachers, or employers about this?"
  • "Who do I tell if I want to be addressed by a different name or pronoun? Are there alternatives to ‘she’ or ‘he’?"
  • "Where can I meet people who are dealing with similar issues?"
