Care and Support at Home – For a Good Life at Home

My name is Christian Danckworth, and I am a certified geriatric nurse. I have eleven years of experience in care work, including six years in a retirement home and five years with an ambulatory care service. During my time at university, I also provided long-term care for a person with amyotrophy.

I offer certified home support in accordance with §45a SGB XI. If you have a recognized care degree, this service can be financed through the care insurance relief budget.

I am part of the Lübeck Health Collective. Through this project, we aim to demonstrate and practice solidarity by supporting people facing poverty and challenging life circumstances.

The Support I Offer

The support I provide is not traditional nursing but rather a personalized care service. I can assist with a wide variety of tasks related to housekeeping and everyday challenges, including:

  • Shopping for groceries and other household essentials
  • Cleaning bathrooms, living rooms, hallways, windows, and staircases
  • Cooking, washing dishes, tidying the kitchen
  • Washing laundry and making beds
  • Cleaning shoes
  • Removing tripping hazards in your home
  • Replacing light bulbs or contacting an electrician or caretaker
  • Adjusting televisions, radios, or stereo systems
  • Sorting books and maintaining book collections
  • Performing garden maintenance
  • Inspecting and maintaining aids such as rollators and wheelchairs
  • Organizing technical assistance for hearing aid issues
  • Helping with mobilization, such as getting up if you have difficulty on your own
  • Assisting with toileting needs
  • Ordering and collecting incontinence materials
  • Accompanying and supporting you at medical and official appointments
  • Running errands

I also enjoy spending quality time with clients by going for walks, playing board games, or reading books and magazines aloud.

All activities are carried out in close consultation with you and tailored to your needs to ensure you feel as comfortable as possible in your home.

Confidentiality and Cultural Sensitivity

Guaranteeing confidentiality and data protection is of utmost importance to me.

Cultural sensitivity is also a key priority. My extensive experience in outpatient care has taught me how to work effectively with people from diverse cultural backgrounds, as both my patients and team members came from a variety of cultures.
